Fundraising - that dreaded word!

FUNDRAISING in the BAND PROGRAM

Why?         To aid in costs in running an active band program

How?         Short-term methods high in return, and involving the students

Already planned:

TBA – Hotdog Sale at Kingston Fraser’s Pro Home Center

Fraser’s supplies it all, we just need workers in one-hour shifts from 10:00-2:00.  Other years this has earned us $250-300

Saturday, Nov. 15 - Bake Sale at Greenwood Mall - 10:00-2:00

In the past, we have raised more than $500 holding this on the day that Santa comes to the Mall.  We may also be preforming during the Santa Claus parade!

TBA – Christmas Recital at PRMS

All grade 7 and 8 band members prepare and perform a solo or small group selection for a delightful evening of seasonal music, followed by a reception (cookies, squares, juice, tea, coffee) provided by the parents.  We generally take in $270-350 by free-will admission.

February 17th- Pancake Supper at the Aylesford United Church with parents donating the ingredients, and some parents and students working to prepare, and others to serve or clean up.  We raised, with Scotiabank’s sponsorship, $1800!!!

Other ventures we have done:

Draw Auction and Dessert Tea – we held this several years ago at the school and made more than $300

Staff Luncheon on an In-service day – again, we only did this once, but raised in excess of $200.

Band Cookbooks – Band members contributed recipes in the spring of 2012 for this great collection, and we have over 100 cookbooks left. They are already paid for, so any we sell makes a clear profit for the Band program - $10 each

Pampered Chef, Candles
